January 3 (SeeNews) - Croatia's general government debt stood at 344.7 billion kuna ($52.15 billion/45.98 billion euro) at the end of September, up by 3.9 billion kuna, or 1.1%, since the end of June and up by 18.7 billion kuna, or 5.7%, since the end of September 2020, central bank figures showed.
On a monthly comparison basis, the debt edged down 0.06%, according to central bank figures released on Friday.
The annual debt growth was due to an increase of domestic debt by 7.9 billion, or 3.6%, and a rise of external debt by 10.8 billion, or 10.2%.
On a quarterly basis, domestic debt grew by 6.3 billion kuna, or 2.9%, while external debt shrank by 2.5 billion, or 2.1%.
Total debt amounted to 82.4% of the estimated gross domestic product (GDP) at the end of September, as compared to 84.7% of GDP at the end of September 2020.
In 2020 Croatia's general government debt increased by 12.5% to 330 billion kuna.
