January 29 (SeeNews) - Croatia's Fortenova Group, the successor to the collapsed concern Agrokor, said it is further consolidating its wholesale services via splitting beverage from food and non-food goods distribution.
The process will begin in early February, with local distributor Roto Dinamic taking over the beverage distribution in the HoReCa channel, while wholesaler Velpro will focus on the distribution of food and non-food products in the HoReCa channel, Fortenova said in a statement.
In addition, Velpro will continue its cooperation with small stores and the independent retail segment, continuing to develop the Plus Market segment, the statement said.
"With a clear strategy in place, both companies will achieve the maximum effect in sales and distribution and provide a focused wholesale service to the target customer groups, responding to all of their needs," the statement said.
In December, Fortenova announced it was merging wholesaler Velpro-Centar Plus into retailer Konzum in order to additionally strengthen the group's wholesale segment, with the largest wholesaler in Croatia coming under the wing of Konzum, the largest retailer in the country.
Roto Dinamic operates 15 sales and distribution centres, making daily deliveries to more than 7,000 points. It also operates discount retail stores ideal for all beverage customers.
The company has been operating on the market for 28 years now and has more than 600 employees. Its total revenue in 2019 stood at 954 million kuna ($141 million/128 million euro), the statement said.
Velpro generated 1.15 billion kuna in revenue last year. It operates 16 sales and distribution centres across Croatia, employing over 850 people. It has been present on the market for 19 years now, the statement added.
