ZAGREB (Croatia), October 11 (SeeNews) – Croatian telecoms equipment manufacturer Ericsson Nikola Tesla [ZSE:ERNT-R-A] said it has signed a 76 million kuna ($11.2 million/10.1 million euro) deal with Minsk-registered beCloud to provide Belarusian users with LTE services.
The deal concerns the second phase of introducing LTE technology in three regions of Belarus, with Ericsson due to implement the project until the end of 2017, in cooperation with beCloud, Ericsson said in a filing with the Zagreb bourse on Monday.
"Ericsson actively participates in LTE development, which is acknowledged by continuous improvements regarding the new possibilities this technology offers, thus responding to the needs of the growing number of users using smartphones and other smart communication devices. The significant experience of our experts and their dedicated work on LTE projects worldwide, is a guarantee that the citizens across Belarus will soon use many LTE advantages", president of Nikola Tesla, Gordana Kovacevic, said in the filing.
Sweden's Ericsson owns 49.07% of the Croatian company.
