May 26 (SeeNews) - Croatian ICT solutions provider Ericsson Nikola Tesla [ZSE:ERNT] said on Friday that its minority shareholder OTP Banka, the local unit of Hungarian lender OTP, has requested the payment of a gross dividend of 12 euro ($12.9) per share, double the amount proposed by the company's management.
OTP Banka considers that the management's proposal for dividend distribution does not maximise value for shareholders, the company said in a filing with the Zagreb bourse.
Ericsson Nikola Tesla said in April that it plans to distribute a dividend of 6 euro per share this year. The shareholders will vote on the proposals on June 14.
Last year, the company paid out a divided of 64 kuna ($9.36/8.49 euro) per share, lower than the dividend of 82 kuna per share it distributed to shareholders in 2021.
In February, the company said its consolidated net profit fell 32.8% on the year in 2022, to 119.2 million kuna due to the impact of Western sanctions against Belarus on its business performance, and rising costs.
