September 19 (SeeNews) - Croatian telecommunication equipment manufacturer Ericsson Nikola Tesla [ZSE:ERNT] said on Thursday it has signed a framework agreement with A1 Hrvatska for further development of the mobile operator's radio access network (RAN) by end-2023.
The agreement includes the modernisation and extension of A1 Hrvatska's network based on Ericsson Radio System's (ERS) technological solutions portfolio, Ericsson Nikola Tesla said in a filing to the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE).
In 2018 and 2019, A1 Hrvatska introduced 5G functionalities by using Ericsson's 5G technology in the radio and core parts of the network.
"Recently, the P3 independent international research named A1 network the best, which has confirmed the quality of infrastructure as well. With the same enthusiasm we continue building 5th generation of networks", said Jiri Dvorjancansky, president of the A1 Hrvatska's management board.
"Ericsson Nikola Tesla’s Research and Development Center is actively involved in the development of the 5th generation of mobile networks and we are particularly pleased with the fact that A1 Hrvatska, in partnership with our company, continues to create new values and provide top communication services to users in Croatia", said Gordana Kovacevic, president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla.
A1 Hrvatska is part of A1 Telekom Austria Group.
