ZAGREB (Croatia), January 12 (SeeNews) - Croatian telecommunication equipment manufacturer Ericsson Nikola Tesla [ZSE:ERNT-R-A] has completed a 63.5 million kuna ($10.2 million/8.4 million euro) overhaul aimed at increasing the energy efficiency of its operations and the use of renewable energy sources, it said on Tuesday.

The overhaul will help the company reduce its yearly energy consumption by more than 4.6 million kWh and CO2 emissions by nearly 1,400 tonnes, Ericsson Nikola Tesla said in a statement.

The project was co-funded by the European Union, which provided 17 million kuna in grants from European structural and investment funds under the Competitiveness and Cohesion operational programme 2014-2020. Ericsson Nikola Tesla financed the remaining part of renovation costs from its own sources.

Ericsson Nikola Tesla's shares traded 0.66% higher at 1,530 kuna by 1150 CET on Tuesday on the Zagreb bourse.
