January 5 (SeeNews) - The main equity indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) ended lower on Wednesday, the third trading day after the adoption of the euro in the Adriatic country, as turnover more than doubled, bourse data showed.
The bourse's total trading turnover reached 486,500 euro ($516,000), up from 194,700 euro from on Tuesday.
The 18-share CROBEX dipped 0.08% to end at 2,003.84 points, following gains in the previous 10 sessions. The narrower CROBEX10, which tracks the top ten issuers in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, fell 0.34% to finish at 1,165.96 points.
Consumer goods distributor Atlantic Grupa [ZSE:ATGR] was the most traded company with a turnover of 95,000 euro. Its shares lost 0.44% to end at 45.20 euro.
Shares of index heavyweight Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT] dropped 1.68% to 23.40 euro in a turnover of 59,000 euro.
Shares of shipping company Atlantska Plovidba [ZSE:ATPL] shed 1.02% to end at 48.50 euro in a turnover of 62,300 euro.
The biggest daily gainers were another two shipping companies, Alpha Adriatic [ZSE:ULPL] and Jadroplov [ZSE:JDPL], which gained 7.30% and 6.94% respectively in lower turnovers.
The ZSE was closed on December 29 and 30 to ensure safe transition to the euro as of January 1. The prices are quoted in both euro and kuna.
