September 10 (SeeNews) - The number of broadband users in Croatia rose by 2.62% on the quarter and 3.00% on the year to 4.6 million at the end of June, according to data from the country's telecommunications regulator, HAKOM.
Revenues from broadband services totalled 1.10 billion kuna ($171.6 million/148.2 million euro) in the second quarter, up 5.07% compared to the previous quarter and 6.15% higher year on year, data posted on the HAKOM website shows.
There were 1.1 million fixed broadband connections at the end of June, up 0.95% on the quarter and 3.02% higher on the year.
Copper connections were subscribed to by 427,897 users, down 0.76% on the quarter and 4.07% lower on the year. Mobile broadband connections (including UMTS, HSDPA) rose by 3.17% compared to the January-March period and 2.99% year-on-year to 3.5 million.
Croatia has a population of around 4.2 million.
