September 16 (SeeNews) - Electronic communication operators in Croatia increased their total investment by 4% on the year in the first half of 2021, the country's telecommunications regulator, HAKOM, said on Thursday.
In the fixed-line segment, investments in optic cable infrastructure surged 121% compared to the first half of last year, HAKOM said in a statement.
The overall revenue on the local market of electronic communications rose 5% on the year in the first six months of 2021, as revenue from broadband Internet assess grew by 10%, the revenue from rents of networks and lines went up 7% and the revenue from paid TV services increased by 4% on the year.
The number of new connections using optic technology rose 32% on the year in January-June 2021. At the end of the second quarter, the number of high-speed broadband connections, with a speed above 30 Mbit/s accounted for 49% of all connections, while the broadband connections with a speed above 100 Mbit/s made up 22% of all connections.
