February 7 (SeeNews) - Croatia's Dubrovnik Airport said it has opened partially its new Terminal C building, while full-scale operations are expected to start by the start of summer 2017.
Check-in and security check points have been moved to the new multi-million euro terminal, while Terminal A will be closed to passenger traffic, Dubrovnik Airport said in a notice on its Facebook page.
"We hope to complete the move to Terminal C by the start of the summer season. We are looking forward to start working at the new passenger terminal which will improve services for our passengers", it noted.
Terminal C covers an area of 24,181 sq m and is located next to Terminal B.
Dubrovnik Airport launched a 246 million euro ($262.5 million) project to expand its land and airside infrastructure in 2010, due to rising passenger numbers. The entire project is expected to be completed in 2019 and is being financed mainly through EU structural funds and domestic bank loans.
The airport processed 1.99 million passengers in 2016, up 17.7% on the year.
