October 24 (SeeNews) - The port authority at Croatia's Adriatic city of Dubrovnik said its revenues rose 19% on the year to 29.6 million kuna ($4.4 million/4.0 million euro) in the nine months through September, local media reported.
At the same time the port authority, Luka Dubrovnik, saw its expenditures rise 9% on the year to 17.7 million kuna, the head of the port authority, Zeljko Raguz, told a news conference on Thursday, as reported by news wire SEEbiz.eu. He did not provide a figure for the January-September net profit.
The full-year results are expected to follow a similar pattern, Raguz said.
Luka Dubrovnik's revenue comes from birthing of cruise ships, waste disposal, storage and parking.
"Luka Dubrovnik has birthed the same number of cruisers as last year, but revenue from waste disposal rose 20% to 1.2 million kuna," Raguz said, adding there is hardly a single square metre available to let at the port.
Revenue from parking services has been also excellent, following an upgrade of the payment system, he commented.
According to Raguz, Luka Dubrovnik is regularly servicing its liabilities and has no debts.
