April 26 (SeeNews) - Croatian power exchange CROPEX said on Thursday it will merge with its Slovenian peer on June 19, following a successful completion of testing activities.
From this date onward, daily capacity for the Slovenian - Croatian border will be implicitly allocated through the PCR solution for the Day-Ahead markets, making the border a part of the Multi-Regional Coupling (MRC), CROPEX said in a statement.
The go-live is subject to final approval by the involved regulatory authorities.
The market coupling is seen as another important step towards an integrated European power market.
CROPEX was established in May 2014 by the Croatian transmission system operator and the Croatian energy market operator. The Croatian energy regulatory agency has designated CROPEX as the NEMO power exchange for the single implementation of day-ahead and intraday cross border markets coupling, for the initial period of four years.
