April 7 (SeeNews) - The number of people who died from the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Croatia has increased by two to 18, while the number of confirmed infections increased to 1,282 as of midday on Tuesday, up from 1,222 a day earlier, the Croatian Institute of Public Health, HZJZ, said.

At the same time, the number of those who have recovered from the disease rose to 167 from 130, HZJZ said in a statement posted on the government-run website created to monitor the virus spread in the country.

A total of 35 patients have been put on assisted lung ventilation as an overall 352 people have been hospitalised, it added.

The figures are based on the test results of 12,322 people.

The first person to test positive for COVID-19 in Croatia was registered on February 25.
