October 15 (SeeNews) - Croatia's consumer prices rose by 3.3% year-on-year in September, after increasing by 3.1% in August, the national statistical office said on Friday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia's consumer price index (CPI) was up 1.0% in September, following an increase by 0.2% in August, the Bureau of Statistics said in a monthly inflation report.
The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the biggest weight of 27.20% in the consumer basket, rose by 2.9% year-on-year in September, after gaining 2.4% in August.
The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel prices, which have 17.73% weight, went up 2.4% in September, following a 2.0% increase in August.
In 2020 Croatia's average consumer price inflation slowed down to 0.1%, from 0.8% in 2019 and 1.5% in 2018.
The country's central bank said last month it expects an average annual inflation of 2.3% this year and 2.1% next year.
