September 17 (SeeNews) - Croatia's consumer prices rose by 3.1% year-on-year in August, after increasing by 2.8% in July, the national statistical office said on Friday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia's consumer price index (CPI) was up 0.2% in August, following an increase by the same margin in July, the Bureau of Statistics said in a monthly inflation report.
The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the biggest weight of 27.20% in the consumer basket, rose by 2.4% year-on-year in August, after gaining 1.9% in July.
The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel prices, which have 17.73% weight, went up 2.0% in August, following a 1.9% increase in July.
In 2020 Croatia's average consumer price inflation slowed down to 0.1%, from 0.8% in 2019 and 1.5% in 2018.
