September 15 (SeeNews) - Croatia's annual deflation remained at 1.5% in August, equal to the rate in July, data from the country's statistics office showed on Thursday.
Month-on-month, Croatia's consumer price index (CPI) decreased 0.2% in August, after dropping 0.7% in July.
Food prices, which have the biggest weight of 27.44% in the consumer basket, dropped 0.5% year-on-year last month, after staying flat in July. The annual deflation in the housing and utilities segment, with a 17.05% weight, remained at 2.5%, while in the transport segment (12.33% weight) deflation slowed to 5.6% from 6.6% in July.
In 2015, Croatia's consumer prices declined by an annual average of 0.5% after a 0.2% contraction in 2014.
