June 7 (SeeNews) - Croatia's consumer confidence index declined by 3.5 percentage points month-on-month in May and dropped by 18.2 percentage points compared to the same month of 2021, central bank data showed.
The index tracking consumer expectations went down by 3.9 percentage points on a monthly comparison basis, while in annual terms it fell by 26.8 points in May, according to figures published by the Croatian central bank last week.
The consumer sentiment index was down by 4.4 percentage points month-on-month and down by 11.7 points year-on-year in May.
The consumers’ opinion about the development of the general economic situation in Croatia over the past 12 months worsened by 3.8 percentage points month on-month and was lower by 8.0 points year-on-year in May.
Regarding their expectations about the economy in the next 12 months, consumers were less optimistic in May than they had been a month earlier, with the index down 3.0 points. Compared to May 2021, the index measuring the expectations about the economic situation fell by 18.5 percentage points.
