November 22 (SeeNews) - Croatia's consumer confidence index recovered by 0.2 percentage points month-on-month in October and was 2.9 points higher compared to the year-earlier level, the central bank said.
October was thus the third straight month of improving consumer confidence in Croatia, which last worsened in July.
The index tracking consumer expectations, however, worsened month-on-month in October, falling by 1.1 percentage points, even though in annual terms it was still up by 3 points, the central bank, HNB, said in a monthly consumer confidence survey published on Thursday.
In accord, the consumer sentiment index went down by a monthly 0.7 percentage points in October, while rising by an annual 2.4 points.
The three indices remained in negative territory.
The consumers’ opinion about the development of the general economic situation in the country over the 12 months to end-October worsened by 0.8 percentage point compared to the consumer survey conducted in September, but was up by 3.3 points year-on-year.
Regarding their expectations for the next 12 months, consumers were more pessimistic in October than a month earlier, with the index shedding by 0.7 points, while compared to October 2018 it was up by 2.6 points.
