June 9 (SeeNews) - Croatia's consumer confidence index rose by 2.4 percentage points month-on-month in May and improved by 8.8 percentage points compared to the same month of 2022, central bank data showed.
The index tracking consumer expectations went up 0.2 percentage points on a monthly comparison basis last month, while in annual terms it rose by 13.6 points, according to figures published by the Croatian central bank last week.
The consumer sentiment index rose 1.3 percentage points month-on-month and increased by 5.7 percentage points year-on-year in May.
The consumers’ opinion about the development of the general economic situation in Croatia over the past 12 months improved by 0.1 percentage points month on-month and was higher by 9.1 points year-on-year in May.
Regarding their expectations about the economy in the next 12 months, consumers were less optimistic in May than they had been a month earlier, with the index down 0.6 points. Compared to May 2022, the index measuring the expectations about the economic situation advanced by 18.7 percentage points.
