January 5 (SeeNews) - Croatia's consumer confidence index rose by 5.1 percentage points month-on-month in December and was 7.6 percentage points higher compared to its year-earlier level, central bank data showed.
The index tracking consumer expectations improved by 7.3 percentage points on a monthly comparison basis in December, while in annual terms it was up by 6.7 points, according to data published on the website of the Croatian central bank.
The consumer sentiment index improved by 5.0 percentage points month-on-month and by 9.7 points year-on-year in December. At the same time, the consumers’ opinion about the development of the general economic situation in Croatia over the past 12 months rose by 3.4 percentage points month on-month and by 7.1 points year-on-year in December.
Regarding their expectations for the economy in the next 12 months, consumers were more optimistic in December than they had been a month earlier, with the index rising by 3.1 points. Compared to December 2020, there was an improvement by 2.3 percentage points.
