September 20 (SeeNews) - Croatia's consumer confidence index recovered by 1.1 percentage points month-on-month in August and was also 0.8 points higher compared to the year-earlier level, the country's central bank said on Friday.
The index tracking consumer expectations also improved in August, rising by 2.5 percentage points month-on-month and climbing up by 0.5 points year-on-year, the central bank, HNB said in a monthly consumer confidence survey.
In accord, the consumer sentiment index went up by 2.1 percentage points month-on-month in August and was up by 1.9 points year-on-year.
The three indices, however, remained in negative territory.
The consumers’ opinion about the development of the general economic situation in the country over the 12 months to end-August improved by 3.8 percentage points compared to the consumer survey conducted in July, and was up by 3.0 points on the year.
Regarding their expectations for the next 12 months, consumers were somewhat more optimistic in August than a month before, with the index advancing by 2.5 points, while compared to August 2018 it was down by 0.8 points.
