December 5 (SeeNews) - Croatia's central bank HNB said it bought 494.7 million euro ($560.8 million) from commercial banks on Tuesday to tame the rise in the local kuna currency.
The central bank intervened on the foreign exchange market by buying euro at an average rate of 7.405906 kuna, HNB said in a statement late on Tuesday.
The Croatian central bank last intervened on the foreign exchange market on May 10, when it purchased 320.5 million euro from commercial banks.
