June 15 (SeeNews) - The number of construction permits issued in Croatia rose by 7.4% on the year in May, to 854, after growing 17.3% on an annual basis in the previous month to 881.
The number of permits issued for buildings rose 7.1% on the year to 708 in May, while the number of permits issued for civil engineering works increased 8.9% to 146, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics said in a statement on Friday.
Out of the total number of permits issued in May, 72.2% were for new construction projects, while 27.8% were related to reconstruction.
Based on the number of permits issued in May, 1,375 dwellings were planned to be built, up 63.7% year-on-year.
