October 14 (SeeNews) - The number of construction permits issued in Croatia in August edged up 0.7% on the year to 765, after increasing by 18% to 798 in the previous month, the statistical office said on Monday.
The number of permits issued for buildings rose 1.7% on the year to 645 in August, while the number of permits issued for civil engineering works decreased 4.8% to 120, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics said in a statement.
Out of the total number of permits issued in August, 75.8% were for new construction projects, while 24.2% were related to reconstruction works.
Based on the number of permits issued in August, 1,137 dwellings are planned to be built, up 18.3% year-on-year.
The total number of building permits issued in Croatia in January-August rose 10.7% year-on-year, reaching 6,518.
