July 13 (SeeNews) - The number of construction permits issued in Croatia decreased by 7.7% year-on-year to 795 in May, after falling by 9.1% in the previous month, the national statistical office said on Friday.
The number of permits issued for buildings fell 1.2% on the year in May to 661, while the number of permits issued for civil engineering works dropped 12.4% to 134, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics said in a statement.
The planned value of works covered by the total number of construction permits issued in May reached 1.8 billion kuna ($283 million/243 million euro).
Out of the total number of permits issued in May, 563 were for new construction projects, while 232 related to reconstruction.
Based on the number of permits issued in May, 840 dwellings were planned, down 20.3% year-on-year.
