March 12 (SeeNews) - The total number of building permits issued in Croatia fell by 4.9% year-on-year in January, to 684, after rising 5.7% in December, the statistical office said on Thursday.
The number of permits issued for buildings dropped by 5.2% on the year to 561 in January, while the number of permits issued for civil engineering works decreased by 3.2% to 123, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics said in a statement.
Out of the total number of permits issued in January, 75.6% were for new construction projects, while 24.4% were related to reconstruction works.
Based on the number of permits issued in January, 1,137 dwellings are planned to be built, up 3.6% year-on-year.
