January 13 (SeeNews) - Croatian shipbuilding company Brodosplit said on Monday it has completed the construction of two mega sections of a passenger cruise ship for its Italian peer Fincantieri and has sent them for delivery to the buyer.
The mega sections will form the bow and the central part of the hull of a passenger vessel currently being built at Fincantieri's shipyard in Monfalcone, Brodosplit said in a statement.
The combined weight of the two sections is over 900 tonnes of steel equipped with various pipelines, vertical communications, machines and devices, and passageways for electricity and automation, among others, the statement said.
"This delivery is a continuation of the long-term cooperation with one of the largest shipbuilding groups in the world, the Fincantieri group," Brodosplit said.
In December, the Croatian company completed the construction of another mega section of the bow of the same cruise ship for Fincantieri weighing 480 tonnes.
Brodosplit (Brodogradjevna Industrija Split) is part of Croatia's DIV Grupa. Some 80% of its output is built for foreign buyers.
