December 16 (SeeNews) - Croatian shipbuilding company Brodosplit said it has completed the construction of a mega section of the bow of a passenger cruise ship for its Italian peer Fincantieri and has sent it for delivery to the buyer.
The section is 12 metres high, 40 metres wide and weighs 480 tonnes. It will form part of a passenger vessel currently being built at Fincantieri's shipyard in Monfalcone, Brodosplit said in a statement over the weekend.
Brodosplit's unit Transportna Sredstva, which specialises in lifting and transportation of extremely heavy loads, is responsible for the shipment and delivery of the mega section.
Brodosplit is owned by Brodogradjevna Industrija Split. Some 80% of its output is built for foreign buyers.
