August 12 (SeeNews) - Croatian movie theatre operator Blitz-CineStar will reopen its cinemas across the country on August 20, after a five-month pause prompted by the coronavirus pandemic, it said.
The reopening will take place after the Croatian Institute of Public Health, in cooperation with the culture and media ministry and Blitz-CineStar prepared recommendations for the operation of multiplex cinemas in the country, with priority put on protecting the health of employees and visitors, Blitz-CineStar said in a statement on Tuesday.
In line with the recommendations announced on Monday, the number of visitors will be limited and the online ticket sale system will automatically block the sale of one seat between two different groups of visitors.
In addition, there will be bigger pauses between movietimes in order to cut the number of potential visitors in the lobbies where the recommended distance is 1.5 metres.
For the time of the closure during the pandemic, Blitz-CineStar refurbished some of its theatres, including the Gold Glass hall at Zagreb's CineStar Arena, while Split's CineStar Joker underwent a complete renovation and will now offer visitors novelties such a Kids hall with slide and playroom, and Royal Beds comfortable leather beds for two that will be available in all halls of the Split cinema.
Blitz-CineStar was founded n 2003 by Germany's CineStar and Croatia's Blitz. The same year, Blitz-CineStar opened its first multiplex in the country - CineStar Zagreb. Today, it is present in 11 Croatian cities where it has 15 locations.
The company is also present in neighbouring Bosnia and Serbia.
