May 4 (SeeNews) - Croatia’s personal data protection agency, AZOP, said on Thursday it has fined local provider of financial services and debt collection and claims management B2 Kapital with 2.265 million euro ($2.5 million) over violations of the EU's general data protection regulation (GDPR).
"This case concerns violation of a number of rules of GDPR by one of the leading companies in the sector of payment of receivables which was not supposed to process personal data of a large number of debtors in a non-transparent and unsafe manner," AZOP said in a press release.
B2 Kapital has put at risk the personal data of some 83,896 individuals, it added.
According to its website, B2 Kapital is part of Norwegian company B2Holding ASA.
