September 23 (SeeNews) - Croatian shipping company Atlantska Plovidba [ZSE:ATPL] said it has signed a deal to take out a five-year loan from Singaporean finance leasing company Chailease International Financial Services to refinance the purchase of the AP Libertas ship.
Thanks to the deal, costs on interest rates on the vessel have been significantly reduced, Atlantska said in a filing to the Zagreb bourse late on Wednesday without elaborating on the value of the loan.
According to earlier media reports, the Dubrovnik-based shipping company bought the 75,213 DWT vessel, named then Pelagos, in 2018 for $11.95 million (10.2 million euro) and changed its name to AP Libertas.
The ship was build in 2008 by Chinese shipyard Hudong Zhonghua and used to be under technical and commercial management by Atlantska Plovidba before the company became its owner.
The company's shares traded at 490 kuna ($76.6/65.4 euro) intraday on Thursday on the Zagreb bourse, 0.62% higher compared to the previous closing price.
