July 17 (SeeNews) - Croatia's consumer price inflation accelerated to 2.4% year-on-year in June from 1.9% in the previous month, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia's consumer price index (CPI) remained unchanged in June, after rising 0.4% in May, the Bureau of Statistics said in a monthly inflation report.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the biggest weight of 27.90% in the consumer basket, climbed 2.2% on the year last month, after rising 1.5% in May.
The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, with a 16.22% weight, increased 3.6% year-on-year in June after rising by 3.4% in May. Prices of transport services, which have a 12.58% weight, recorded a gain of 6.6% year-on-year in June, up from an increase of 4.1% in the previous month.
Croatia swung to average annual inflation of 1.1% in 2017, from deflation of 1.1% in 2016.
