August 17 (SeeNews) - Croatia's inflation accelerated to 0.8% year-on-year in July from 0.7% a month earlier, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.

Food prices, which have the biggest weight of 27.64% in the consumer basket, climbed up 2.7% on the year last month, after rising 2.3% in June.
Annual deflation in the housing and utilities segment, with a 16.58% weight, contracted to 3.2% from 3.4% in June, while the transport segment, which has 12.48% weight, recorded an annual inflation rate of 0.4% in July, compared to a rise in prices of 0.6% year-on-year in the previous month.
The month-on-month price decrease in July was mostly due to a drop of 9.8% in the prices of clothing and footwear.
