February 22 (SeeNews) - Croatia's consumer price inflation slowed to 0.2% year-on-year in January from 0.8% in the previous month, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia's consumer price index (CPI) decreased by 0.9% in January, after dropping by 0.8% in December, the Bureau of Statistics said in a monthly inflation report.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the biggest weight of 27.81% in the consumer basket, fell 0.8% year-on-year last month, after rising by 0.5% in December. The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, with a 16.44% weight, added 2.0% in January after rising 2.2% in December. The prices of transport services, which have a 12.43% weight, dropped by 1.9% in January, compared with a decrease of 0.3% in the previous month.
Croatia's average annual inflation accelerated to 1.5% last year, from 1.1% in 2017, the statistical office said in January.
