January 16 (SeeNews) - Croatia's consumer price inflation accelerated to 1.4% year-on-year in December, from 0.7% in November, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia's consumer price index (CPI) decreased by 0.1% in December, after dropping at the same rate in November, the Bureau of Statistics said in a monthly inflation report.
Croatia's average consumer price inflation for the 12 months to end-December slowed to 0.8%, from 1.5% in 2018 and 1.1% in 2017.
The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the biggest weight of 27.90% in the consumer basket, rose by 2.1% year-on-year in December, after adding 0.4% in November.
The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel prices (16.22% weight), grew by 2% on the year in December, following an increase by 1.8% in the prior month.
