June 14 (SeeNews) - Croatia's ailing food and retail concern Agrokor said on Wednesday it has received a total of 9,864 claims under its call to creditors to register their claims with the extraordinary trustee of the company.
On April 10, Agrokor called on all of its creditors to register their claims, in line the law on extraordinary administration, by June 9, it said in a statement on its website.
"Thus far, we received 8,038 packages of which many include several claims registrations. The process included a great number of creditors who registered their claims in accordance with defined procedures and forms and many of them did so after harmonizing individual claims with Agrokor’s companies included in the extraordinary administration process", Agrokor executive director, Marta Bogdanic, said.
Bogdanic added that the number of claims may increase over the next few days, as claims sent by courier services and mail arrive.
The deadline for the processing of claims is 60 days. All received claims have been registered, scanned and digitalised.
Additional claims for Agrokor's associated and dependent companies are expected to arrive subsequently under an April 21 decision of the Zagreb commercial court. The deadline for these claims is June 20.
