June 22 (SeeNews) - Croatia's Agrokor concern and all of its units and partners have economic future following the adoption of the debt settlement deal by its creditors, prime minister Andrej Plenkovic said.
"Lessons have to be learnt from this case. The transformational effect of this process on the Croatian economy and business practice in Croatia must be strong, it must eliminate all that is not good and must strengthen the supervisory and regulatory mechanisms of all competent institutions", Plenkovic said in a statement following a government session on Thursday.
The settlement deal is a success for everyone involved, Plenkovic said, adding that Croatia has undergone the largest corporate restructuring in Europe.
"We have persevered, we have shown statesmanship, political responsibility, sternness."
The Commercial Court in Zagreb said on Thursday it scheduled a voting hearing on the Agrokor settlement deal on July 4.
"The subject of the hearing is to vote on the settlement, agreed to by the concern's receiver and the temporary council of creditors, and published on the Commercial Court's e-newsletter on June 20," the court said.
After the voting is held and the settlement plan becomes effective, the implementation process is planned to last between three and four months.
