March 12 (SeeNews) - The three business segments of Croatia's troubled Agrokor concern - retail and wholesale, food and agriculture, generated a total operating profit of 34.2 million kuna ($5.2 million/4.6 million euro) in January on aggregated revenue of 1.5 billion kuna, Agrokor said on Tuesday.
"All business groups have recorded an increase in both revenues and EBITDA," the concern said in a monthly financial report, citing preliminary unaudited estimated figures compared to budget.
The revenue of the Agriculture segment totalled 192 million kuna, outperforming budget by 34%. The segment's EBITDA was 61.1% higher than budgeted.
The Food sector generated revenues of 443 million kuna, 1.9% above budget, and EBITDA of 14.7 million kuna, 19.8% higher than planned.
Food company Zvijezda [ZSE:ZVZD] recorded revenue of 48 million kuna, outperforming budget by 3 million kuna, while its EBITDA exceeded the budgeted value almost three times.
Retail and wholesale sector's revenues came in 0.6% above budget with 905 million kuna generated in January.
The revenue of retailer Konzum outperformed budget by 2% and the company's EBITDA exceeded the planned value by 24 million kuna.
Agrokor, currently under interim administration, will be succeeded by a new company named Fortenova Group as of April 1, as a settlement deal with its creditors takes effect, the group said earlier this month.
Fabris Perusko, Agrokor's crisis manager, has been proposed to act as Fortenova Group CEO.
