December 12 (SeeNews) - Agriculture companies within Croatia's ailing Agrokor concern posted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of 160.3 million kuna ($24.6 million/21.7 million euro) in the first ten months of 2018, below the planned amount of 256.2 million kuna, Agrokor said.
The revenue of the agricultural segment totalled 1.842 billion kuna in the ten months through October, 13.8% lower than budgeted, the concern said in an interim financial statement on Tuesday.
Food company Belje [ZSE:BLJE-R-A] recorded revenue of 1.054 billion kuna, lower than the planned 1.195 billion kuna. Belje's EBITDA totalled 127.7 million kuna, with a margin of 12.1%.
The revenue of meat processing company PIK-Vinkovci [ZSE:PIVK-R-A] came in at 573 million kuna, below the planned 673 million kuna. The company's EBITDA amounted to 14.5 million kuna, with a margin of 2.5%.
Agricultural conglomerate Vupik [ZSE:VPIK-R-A] saw revenue of 215 million kuna in the first ten months of 2018, below the budgeted amount of 270 million kuna. EBITDA through October totalled 18.1 million kuna, with a margin of 8.4%, and was lower than planned due to the low market value of finishers.
