March 26 (SeeNews) - Croatian shipyard 3. Maj [ZSE:3MAJ] said it has signed a contract with Cyprus-based Forzina Shipping Company for completing the works on a ship whose construction is already in progress.
The deal was signed on March 24, the company said in a brief statement filed with the Zagreb Stock Exchange on Wednesday. It provided no further details except that the signed contract concerns its shipbuilding project 723.
However, news daily Novi List said on Wednesday, citing a report by state news agency Hina, that project 723 refers to the Santiago tanker for transportation of oil, petrol products and chemicals that is being built for the needs of Spanish company Marflet Marine, which owns Forzina Shipping.
The agreed deadline for delivering the tanker is July 15, 2021, according to the report.
The Santiago tanker will be 183 metres long, 32 metres wide and will be able to carry 50,000 tonnes of cargo, it added.
3. Maj's shares last traded on the Zagreb bourse on January 20, 2020, closing up 5.71% at 37 kuna ($5.3/4.9 euro).
