April 20 (SeeNews) - Croatian railway infrastructure operator HZ Infrastruktura said it has received 15 bids in its tender for the reconstruction of the Hrvatski Leskovac-Karlovac railway section - an investment estimated at 2.04 billion kuna ($325 million/269.4 million euro).
A consortium made of China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group and China Railway No. 4 Engineering Group submitted the lowest bid of 1.29 billion kuna, HZ Infrastruktura said in a statement on Monday.
The highest price offer, of 2.9 billion kuna, was placed by Serbia's Rading, which is bidding alone.
A total of seven companies and eight consortia submitted bids in the tender for the revamp of the Hrvatski Leskovac-Karlovac section that makes part of the Rijeka-Zagreb-Budapest branch of the trans-European transport network (TEN-T) Mediterranean corridor, and of European Rail Freight Corridor 6, which runs through the Mediterranean region.
Candidates running on their own also include Greece's Avax, China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), as well as Turkish companies Alsim Alarko, Celikler, Kolin and Cengiz.
Croatia's DIV Grupa submitted an offer jointly with Turkey's Yapi Merkezi and Dogus. Slovenia's Kolektor Koling, SZ – ZGP Ljubljana and CGP are another consortium that has sumbitted a bid.
Austria's Swietelsky is running in consortium with its Zagreb-based arm. Austria's Strabag is also bidding in a tie-up with its Croatian unit.
A consortium of Spain's Comsa, Italy Rizzani de Eccher and G.C.F. Generale Costruzioni Ferroviarie is another candidate vying for the project, whereas Spain's Aldesa Construcciones is running in a consortium with China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).
A tie-up of Kazakhstan's Integra Construction KZ and Turkey's Tasyapi also submitted a bid.
