January 3 (SeeNews) - The main share indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) advanced by more than 2.30% on Monday, the first trading day for this year, bourse data showed.
The ZSE's blue-chip 21-share benchmark CROBEX index gained 2.37% to finish at 2.128,54 points, its highest levels since March 2017, according to bourse figures.
The narrower of the ZSE's two blue-chip indices, the CROBEX10, which tracks the top ten companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, went up 2.34% to finish to 1.291,91 points.
The most liquid stock on Monday was telco Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT] with a turnover of 2.5 million kuna ($376,000/333,000 euro). Its shares rose 0.27% to finish at 186 kuna.
Shares of hotel operator Valamar Riviera [ZSE:RIVP] gained 1.82% to end at 33.60 kuna in a turnover of 1.7 million kuna.
Shipping company Atlantska Plovidba's share price surged 7.53% to 400 kuna in a turnover of 1.3 million kuna.
Food and pharmaceuticals producer Podravka's shares climbed up 3.80% to end at 656 kuna in a turnover of 1.0 kuna.
Shares of electrical equipment manufacturer Koncar jumped 3.89% to end at 935 kuna in a turnover of 998,500 kuna.
ZSE's total turnover reached 11.8 million kuna from 6.3 million kuna on Thursday.
The ZSE was closed for trading on Friday for New Year's Eve.
