July 23 (SeeNews) - The main equity indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) ended higher on Friday, as turnover slightly improved, backed by trading in the shares of blue-chip food, beverages and pharmaceuticals producer Podravka, bourse data showed.
The ZSE's blue-chip 18-share benchmark CROBEX index gained 0.28%, closing at 1,930.92 points, rising for a second day in a row.
The narrower of the ZSE's two blue-chip indices, the CROBEX10, which tracks the leading companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, finished at 1,192.73 points, up 0.28%, extending its winning streak to third day.
Podravka generated the biggest daily turnover for a second straight day on FridayTurnover from trading in Podravka's shares amounted to 1.4 million kuna ($218,000/186,000 euro), as its shares rose 0.34% to close at 586 kuna. On Thursday, Podravka generated a turnover of 1.4 million kuna after the company said earlier in the day that its first-half net profit rose 22% to 197.6 million kuna.
Shares of diversified holding company Djuro Djakovic [ZSE:DDJH] were the biggest gainer on Friday, surging 9.63% to close at 3.30 kuna in a turnover of some 2,500 kuna.
Shares of shipyard Viktor Lenac [ZSE:VLEN] ended at 9.55 kuna, down 4.50%, in a turnover of 9,600 kuna.
The bourse's total regular trading turnover rose to 5.7 million kuna from 4.9 million kuna on Thursday.
