June 17 (SeeNews) - Croatian rent-a-car company Carwiz International said it has expanded its franchise business to the Caribbean, and in particular, to St. Maarten, which is one of the constituent countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Moreover, negotiations were held for the further expansion of Carwiz's franchise network to other Caribbean islands, the company said in a statement last week.
"It is well known that the Caribbean, or St. Maarten, is an exceptionally strong tourist destination," Carwiz owner Kresimir Dobrilovic was quoted as saying. "Our partners with whom we have completed the franchise placement are certain that the business results we expect in the coming years will be achieved."
"In addition, by strengthening the brand and promoting available channels, we expect other Caribbean destinations to soon become part of the Carwiz family,” he added.
The statement added that the management of Carwiz is in franchise negotiations with 20 car rental companies from around the world, including Vietnam, Brazil, Russia, Malaysia, Malta, Portugal and Spain, among others.
Carwiz International has already expanded to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Albania, Latvia, Cyprus, Morocco, and Turkey.
Carwiz said earlier it had a hundred employees at the start of this year's summer season, double from a year earlier.
The company operates through online channels and has 13 offices in all major cities and tourist destinations in Croatia. Internationally, it is working with virtually all major tourist destinations through B2B channels.
