February 15 (SeeNews) - The combined gross written premiums of Croatian insurers totalled 897.4 million kuna ($127 million/120.3 million euro) at the end of January, up 3.21% on the year, official figures show.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance dropped 0.32% to 679.2 million kuna in January, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 218.2 million kuna, 16% higher compared with a year earlier, according to figures published on the website of the Croatian Insurance Bureau.
Twenty-three insurance companies operated in Croatia in 2016, following the merger of Sunce osiguranje with Agram Life at the end of 2015. Their combined gross written premiums totalled 8.8 billion kuna at the end of December, up 0.42% on the year.
