November 27 (SeeNews) - The gross written premiums of Croatian insurers totalled 8.352 billion kuna ($1.3 billion/1.1 billion euro) in the first ten months of 2018, up 9.52% on the year, official figures show.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance rose 9.8% year-on-year to 5.715 billion kuna in the January-October period, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 2.637 billion kuna, 8.9% above the prior-year level, according to figures published on the website of the Croatian Insurance Bureau.
As at the end of 2017, 23 insurance companies operated in the country. They earned gross written premiums of 9.1 billion kuna in 2017, up 3.38% on 2016.
