ZAGREB (Croatia), May 13 (SeeNews) - The gross written premiums of Croatian insurers totalled 3.897 billion kuna ($590.9 million/526.2 million euro) in the first four months of 2019, up 6.83% on the year, the Croatian Insurance Bureau said on Monday.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance rose 11.65% to 2.770 billion kuna in the period under review, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 1.126 billion kuna, 3.41% below the prior-year level, the Insurance Bureau said in a monthly report.
As at the end of 2018, 20 insurance companies operated in the country. They earned gross written premiums of 9.9 billion kuna last year, up 8.83% on 2017.
