July 18 (SeeNews) - The gross written premiums of Croatian insurers totalled 5.38 billion kuna ($845.3 million/727.9 million euro) in the first half of 2018, up 9.19% on the year, official figures show.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance rose 9.5% year-on-year to 3.724 billion kuna in the January-June period, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 1.659 billion kuna, 8.5% above the prior-year level, according to figures published on the website of the Croatian Insurance Bureau.
At the end of 2017, 23 insurance companies operated in the country. They earned gross written premiums of 9.1 billion kuna in 2017, up 3.38% on 2016.
