March 14 (SeeNews) - The gross written premiums of Croatian insurers totalled 1.72 billion kuna ($282.5 million/228.3 million euro) at the end of February, up 4.07% on the year, official figures showed.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance rose 6.63% year-on-year to 1.26 billion kuna in January-February, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 457.8 million kuna, 2.39% below the prior-year level, according to figures published on the website of the Croatian Insurance Bureau on Tuesday.
At the end of 2017, 23 insurance companies operated in the country. They earned gross written premiums of 9.1 billion kuna, up 3.38% on the year.
