March 20 (SeeNews) - The combined gross written premiums of Croatian insurers totalled 1.7 billion kuna ($246.9 million/229.5 million euro) at the end of February, up 2.59% on the year, official figures show.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance edged up 0.02% to 1.2 billion kuna at the end of February, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 468.98 million kuna, 9.71% higher compared with a year earlier, according to figures published on the website of the Croatian Insurance Bureau.
Twenty-five insurance companies operated in Croatia in February.
At the end of 2016, 23 insurance companies operated in the country with combined gross written premiums of 8.8 billion kuna, up 0.42% on the year.
